Application
and General Overview of Student Task:
During the second half
of semester two, students worked in small groups of 2-3 students to study
assigned Talmud sugyah material, and in turn taught it to the class.
Students in each group prepared handouts and teaching aids, including sugyah
outlines, wordlists, and PowerPoint presentations to assist in their teaching
the sugyah to the class. Students thus demonstrated that they have
understood and incorporated the principles and skills in the course. Students
effectively engaged in the role of Talmud teacher to the class. After each
student group presentation, the class then reviewed the material taught by the group
(in chavruta),
with support from the “teaching group.” The class then wrote a class
assignment or homework or quiz to assess their comprehension of the lesson.
Student work for this project was submitted to form the material
for this webpage that now becomes a school student resource.

Student Project Task Outline.

have also uploaded the Powerpoint slideshows as Adobe pdf files (though
you will not be able to see the animation). To view Adobe files, you
will need the free Adobe Reader that can be
downloaded here.
2. For PowerPoint and Adobe files
(especially those larger than 1 mb), it will be easier and quicker to
right click with your mouse on the PowerPoint or Adobe file link and
download the file ("save target as") to your computer, and then run the
file from your computer.
3. Please
keep in mind that this is student work.
